Company History

GC Polyols Company Limited has been registered since 2nd June, 2017 for a purpose of operating the business of Polyols & PU system. The company was established as a joint venture by PTT Global Chemical Public Company Limited (GC), Sanyo Chemical Industries, Ltd. (SCI) and Toyota Tsusho Corporation (TTC) under a Joint Venture Agreement. GC holds 82.1% of the company shares, while SCI holds 14.9% and TTC holds 3%. The formation of GC Polyols is an important step for the petrochemical business in the Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC), Thailand’s special economic zone, Thailand 4.0 initiative.

GC Polyols leverages shareholders’ strategic positions in penetrating high value-added performance chemicals, thus enabling not only growth opportunities but also increase competitive advantages in the fast-growing markets in South East Asia and India.

GC Polyols’ feedstock, Propylene oxide (PO) and Ethylene Oxide (EO), will be supplied from PTT Global Chemical Plc. (GC). Sanyo Chemical Industries, Ltd. provides advanced technology and technical know-how to enhance the performance in a wide range of polyols to fulfill customer’s requirements, while Toyota Tsusho Cooperation will support in marketing and sales with its strong logistics and networks. The combined strengths of the three joint venture partners will contribute greatly to the company’s long-term success to supply competitive polyols that are used to make high-performance polyurethane products in automotive, electrical and electronics, household, packaging, footwear and construction industries.

GC Polyols plant located at Hemaraj Eastern Industrial Estate, Rayong. The plant has an annual capacity of 130,000 tons per year of polyether Polyols, 30,000 tons per year of polymer Polyols, and 20,000 tons per year of premix Polyols.
